A comprehensive listing of 7,500 hymnals published in North and South America from 1640 to 1978 in all languages using the Roman alphabet. Some 140 religious bodies are represented.
Information includes hymnal titles, imprint, year of publication, compiler (individual or organization), number of pages, location of copy indexed, and the name of indexer. The equivalent of a 1,500 page printed book, the microfiche public ation is a filmed reproduction of the Hymn Society's master card bibliography resource file.
This work can also be used as a companion to the Dictionary of American Hymnology: First-Line Index (see separate listing). Foreword by Ellinwood.
