The United Planning Organization held its Grand Opening celebration on October 19, 2002 by throwing open the doors to its new headquarters facility while sponsoring a community festival. Several thousand attended the day long event which saw local elected officials along with noted luminaries pay tribute to the DC community action agency that's now celebrating its 40th anniversary.
