SHIFT SUPERVISOR/DRIVER $20,590.00
BASIC FUNCTIONS: To administer supervision of the Hypothermia Hotline Staff. Provides information and transportation to District Residents needing emergency shelters for homeless single adults and families.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least two (2) yrs experience driving a fifteen (15) passenger vehicle. Ability to work well with people. Sensitive to the needs of others without becoming emotionally involved. Demonstrate good oral communication skills and ability to deal effectively with the public. Must be willing to take drug test upon demand by Supervisor or Designate.
CASE MANAGER $35,000 - $38,000
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Under the supervision of the Assessment/Case Management Coordinator, this staff person is responsible for the implementation of the Assessment/Case Management Project.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: Must have Masters Degree in Social Work and
experience working with geriatric population. Must have the ability to work with multi-problem clients, handle emergencies and stress-related situations, knowledge of family and social system. Must have preferred drivers license and automobile along with knowledge of DCOA Aging Network and resources.
EMERGENCY SERVICES COORDINATOR $24,000.00
BASIC FUNCTIONS: To provide direct sevices relating to distribution of DC
Emergency Assistance Funds and other emergency services at UPO-ACSC.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: Minimum of two (2) years college is desired.
Experience in the emergency services and social service field is a must.
Computer literacy is required. Excellent writing skills and strong motivation skills required.
ENERGY EDUCATION COUNSELORS Part-time $10.00 per hour
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Provide enrollment assistance and counseling for the DC REACH Program.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: High School diploma or GED, 3 years experience working with low-income energy clients and senior citizens.
TRAINING ASSISTANT Part Time $25,000.00
BASIC FUNCTIONS: To assist Project Director, Career Development Specialist/ Job Readiness Trainers and student with administrative support on the Student
Internship Program.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: Should posses at least two years College education in any of the Social Sciences or related field. Two years prior work experience in an administrative or coordination capacity, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to relate and work with High School students. Must be computer literate.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST Full Time $29,500.00
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Youth Development Specialist is responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the Year Round In-School Program. Coordinate special activities & workshops for youth. Develop work based learning opportunities for participants. Enhance the work readiness capability & education competency of youth participants. Plan & coordinate the Youth Speakers Bureau. Secures resources to further program objectives. Assist program staff in facilitating UPO & the Passport to Work organizational mission & purpose. Serves as liaison to program staff.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: Must have demonstrated ability to work well with children and youth. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education, Business, Social Welfare or related field. Experience working with youth in a social services & academic setting; excellent oral & written communication skills; knowledge of job development & welfare preparation principles & programs; Knowledge of the DC area & its resources; Proven experience in selecting & working with volunteers & mentors; Strong self-motivation.
TEACHER 1 Bilingual-Spanish position 12 month position $21,867 - 26,738
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for a specific group of children including planning and implementation of their education program.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development (ECE) (CD) or related field to early childhood with experience in teaching preschool children and a State awarded certificate to teach in a preschool program OR an Associate of Arts degree in ECE, CD or 2 or more yrs of college including 15 hrs of ECE or CD and 1 year of experience as a teacher in a licensed child development facility. Or at least 3 yrs working experience in a licensed child development center provided the Teacher or Asst. Teacher has been awarded an age appropriate CD Associate Credential.
HEAD TEACHER 12 month position $25,079 - $26,738
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Assist Center Director in administrative requirements of the center as assigned; assists Center Director in development and submission of reports; responsible for teaching a group or class of children as may be required; serves in the capacity of Center Director in the absence of the Director.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related
field and at least three yrs of classroom teaching experience with young children in an early childhood development program; demonstrated supervisory experience.
Associate degree or equivalent Early Childhood Education or a related field such as such as social work with hours in related area, home economics, child development or psychology, and five yrs as a teacher in a child development facility; demonstrated supervisory experience.
