ATCC
Azerbaijan Trade and
Cultural Center
The
Azerbaijan Trade and Cultural Center (ATCC) was founded by USACC
in September 2000 to promote mutual understanding and cooperation
between the United States of America and Republic of Azerbaijan.
It was inaugurated on September 11 by His Excellency Heydar Aliyev,
President, Republic of Azerbaijan.
USACC
owns this four-floor historic mansion located in the heart of Georgetown.
ATCC hosts Azerbaijan Gallery, USACC offices and an apartment for
USACC interns.
Located
on two floors, the Azerbaijan Gallery displays an exhibition of
rugs, paintings and ethnic crafts from Azerbaijan. The Gallery is
open to public from 12.00 p.m. through 5.00 p.m. Monday through
Friday.
Some
of the exhibited artwork is also for sale. We present you the most
authentic and beautiful rugs and artwork from Azerbaijan, which
can also decorate your homes and offices. Proceeds from the sale
are donated to the International Rescue Committee to construct additional
schools for refugee children and sustain the existing refugee schools
in Azerbaijan. By purchasing rugs and artworks from The Azerbaijan
Gallery, our patrons also support some 153,000 refugee children
in Azerbaijan.
The
two-floor Gallery is also available for rent to individuals and/or
corporations. We offer you this beautifully decorated historic mansion
in the heart of Georgetown where you may host your guests for a
cocktail, dinner or other special occasion. Again proceeds from
the rent are donated to sustain the USACC Humanitarian Mission.
Azerbaijan
Trade and Cultural Center offers significant benefits and expands
the mission of the USACC.
Throughout
the year, USACC hosts exhibitions and small-size cultural performances
in the Azerbaijan Gallery. These exhibitions and performances feature
renowned Azerbaijani musicians and artists. ATCC creates a unique
opportunity for the rich Azerbaijani culture to find its way to
the United States. Through the language of music and arts, the Chamber
creates more understanding between the American people and the people
of Azerbaijan.
Through
sales of the artwork and rental of the space, we have managed to
diversify the funding source for our projects and acquired an independent
source of funding to sustain the USACC Humanitarian Mission: Pilot
School Construction for Refugee Children.
ATCC
has also allowed USACC to acquire a larger office space, which,
in turn, has expanded the breadth of the Chamber's programmatic
activities. We plan to increase the number and size of functions,
i.e. forums, workshops, breakfast and/or luncheon meetings, as well
as diversify the format of these functions to better serve the needs
of our members. The larger office space also allows us to expand
the existing constituency beyond USACC membership, involve additional
constituency in USACC functions and better accommodate the increasing
number of guests at these functions.
Operating
expenses of the organization have decreased significantly, and funds
saved are routed toward enhancement of programmatic activities.
ATCC
has become a landmark, which hosts the American and Azerbaijan flags
and is symbol of the American-Azerbaijani partnership.
The Azerbaijan Trade and Cultural Center is made possible with a
